"In July, the growth rate of industrial added value above the national scale declined to 4.8% year-on-year, mainly due to the drag of manufacturing industry." In July, 36 of the 41 major industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. Agricultural and sideline food processing industry grew by 1.5%, textile industry by 1.2%, chemical raw materials and chemicals industry by 3.8%, non-metallic mineral products industry by 8.7%, ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 10.0%, non-ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 10.3%, general equipment manufacturing industry by 0.7%, special equipment manufacturing industry by 0.7%. Judging by economic types,
In July, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 3.7% year-on-year; that of joint-stock enterprises increased by 6.1%, that of foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises decreased by 0.2%, and that of private enterprises increased by 7.3%. According to Jiang Yuan, Senior Statistician of the Industry Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, industrial production is basically stable at present, but it should also be noted that the growth rate of industrial production fell back in July and the downward pressure on industrial production increased.
