In July, China's transport production index increased by 6.1% year-on-year.

On August 15, the Academy of Sciences of the Ministry of Transport issued the July Transport Production Index of China. Overall, transport production ran smoothly in July and the growth rate accelerated.
China Transport Production Index (CTSI) is a comprehensive index which is weighted and synthesized to reflect the overall operation status of the transportation industry from the perspective of comprehensive transportation, taking passenger and freight volume of railway, highway, waterway and civil aviation as basic indicators. The index is based on 2010 with a benchmark value of 100 points. It is composed of two sub-indexes: comprehensive index and passenger and freight.
In July this year, China Transport Production Index (CTSI) was 176.6 points, up 6.1% year-on-year. Driven by the vigorous summer tourism, the growth rate of railway and civil aviation passenger transport has exceeded double digits for the first time this year, which has promoted the rapid growth of CTSI passenger transport index. The CTSI passenger transport index in July was 172.4 points, an increase of 6.0% over the same period last year. Driven by the transportation demand of materials such as mining and construction materials, CTSI freight index was 179.0 points, up 6.1% year-on-year.
