Data sheet of foreign capital inflows into Mexico's energy industry

From 1999 to the first quarter of 2019, foreign capital inflows into Mexico's energy industry amounted to US$38.079 billion, accounting for 6.9% of total foreign capital inflows, and 1,201 foreign investment enterprises, accounting for 2% of all investment enterprises.
According to industry classification, investment in power generation industry accounts for 42%; investment in pipeline natural gas transportation accounts for 30%; investment in energy project construction accounts for 9%; other accounts for 18%.
From the point of view of investment sources, the total investment in Spain is 9.496 billion US dollars, accounting for 24.9% and 398 participating enterprises; the total investment in Canada is 8.67 billion US dollars, accounting for 22.8%, 61 participating enterprises; the total investment in the United States is 7.217 billion US dollars, accounting for 19%, 344 participating enterprises; and the total investment in Italy is 4.318 billion US dollars. The total investment in Japan is 1.369 billion US dollars, accounting for 3.6% and 45 participating enterprises. The total investment of these five countries is US$31.072 billion, accounting for 81.6%. There are 912 participating enterprises.
In addition, the table also provides a list of the three enterprises that provided the most jobs in 2017. IBERDROLA in Spain, UNIONFENOSA in Mexico in the Netherlands and Northwest Gas Transport in Canada ranked first.
