Clean Emission of Coal and Electricity in China ranks first in the world

In recent years, China's coal reduction effect is obvious. Li Fulong, Director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, said that the development of coal-fired power should be viewed systematically from the overall national resource endowment and energy stock structure.
Li Fulong pointed out that according to the 13th Five-Year Plan, the target of controlling coal-fired power plants to 1.1 billion kilowatts by 2020 is now expected to be achieved. In particular, the task of eliminating 20 million kilowatts of backward coal-fired power units during the 13th Five-Year Plan period has been completed ahead of schedule.
Li Fulong stressed that China has intensified efforts to promote ultra-low emission of coal and electricity in recent years. Now the coal power generating unit with ultra-low emission level has reached 810 million kilowatts, which is the largest ultra low emission clean energy coal electricity system in the world. The level of clean coal and electricity emissions should be said to be at the forefront of the world.
"In particular, we need to add that under the condition that China has a relatively large proportion of total energy resources, we will develop clean and efficient coal generating units, including supercritical, ultra supercritical, large capacity, high energy efficiency, and less polluting units. At the same time, we should reduce the bulk coal and concentrate on coal for power generation. A good path can optimize the structure of coal consumption, but it will not lead to a linear increase in coal consumption. Li Fulong said.
China's coal consumption in recent years and the expected accomplishment of the 13th Five-Year Plan can also be supported by this.
Li Fulong said that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, coal consumption in the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong provinces is expected to decrease by 5%-10% compared with 2015. In the past two years, China's coal consumption is lower than 4.24 billion tons in 2013. It shows that the effect of coal reduction substitution is very good by taking the measures mentioned above.
