Recently, there was a small video entitled "visual contrast of total GDP over the years" which attracted the attention of netizens. In the 70s of last century, the total amount of GDP in China was not far away from the developed countries. In 80s, China, which had just started the process of reform and opening up, began to exert its strength, and the total amount of GDP slowly surpassed; in 90s, the total amount of GDP in China has already ranked the top seven in the world; in the new century, China's economy has reached the top level. In 2010, China surpassed Japan and became the second largest economy in the world. In the past 6 years, China's total GDP has been more than two times that of Japan.

From the initial stage of the "poor and white" to today, the total economic volume is second in the world, and per capita GDP will soon exceed 10000 dollars. In the past 70 years, the Chinese people have gone through an extraordinary road.

GDP growth is more than 170 times. "China is a country with nine million and six hundred thousand square kilometers of land and 60 million people. China should make greater contributions to mankind." In 1956, this sentence reflects the deep aspiration of the Chinese people. However, before 1949, poverty, weakness and frequent wars continued, and economic and social development could not be fundamentally improved for a long time. The key development indicators such as generating capacity, railway length and average life expectancy are not even as good as those in India, Asia. Let alone talk about "greater contributions to mankind".

In October 1st of 1949, with the five-star red flag rising slowly, the history of China opened up a whole new page. After the founding of the Communist Party of China, the whole nation made concerted efforts, and in a very short time, a series of brilliant history books, such as "two bombs and one star" and Cheng Kun railway, came out one after another.

In 1978, the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was solemnly convened, which realized a great turning point of far-reaching significance in the history of the Party and the country and opened up a new historical period of China's reform and opening up. From this moment on, the "Chinese miracle", which surprised the world, was staged on this land again and again.

As a whole, China has become the "main engine" to promote global economic development. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the gross domestic product in 2018 increased 174 times as much as that in 1952, with an average annual growth rate of 8.1%. Among them, the average annual growth rate from 1979 to 2018 was 9.4%, much higher than the average annual growth rate of the world economy in the same period, with an average annual contribution rate of about 18%, second only to the United States in the world. From the perspective of the development of major industries, the basic role of agriculture in China has been continuously strengthened, the leading position of industry has been rapidly upgraded, and the comprehensiveness, coordination and sustainability of economic development have been continuously enhanced. At present, China has become a country with all the industrial categories in the United Nations Industrial Classification. The output of more than 200 industrial products ranks first in the world, and the added value of manufacturing industry ranks first in the world steadily since 2010. With the rapid development of agricultural economy, the total grain output increased from 30.477 million tons in 1978 to 61.223 million tons in 2012, and the output of grain, meat, peanut, tea and fruit continued to rank first in the world.

From the construction of infrastructure in China, China has the most developed high-speed rail network and the longest expressway system in the world. By the end of 2018, China's railway business mileage reached 131 thousand km, of which the high-speed railway reached 29 thousand km, accounting for more than 60% of the world's high-speed rail, and the high-speed rail network with "four vertical four horizontal" main frameworks basically formed; the expressway from scratch, reaching 143 thousand km as of the end of 2018, and the mileage of regular flights 8 million 380 thousand km, 734 times higher than the end of 1950. According to estimates, in 2018, 99.9% of households in rural areas across the country are connected to roads in natural villages, 99.9% to electricity in natural villages, 99.7% to telephone in natural villages, 98.1% to cable television signals in natural villages, and 95.7% to broadband in natural villages.

Seeing from its achievements in technological breakthroughs, China has reached the world's advanced level in many fields, and has promoted the rapid development of world science and technology. In October 15, 2003, the Shenzhou five spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan satellite launch center, sending astronaut Yang Liwei into space. China has also become the third country to send humans into space. Since then, China has made remarkable achievements in spacewalks and lunar exploration projects. In 2010, China's first 100 million supercomputer "Tianhe I" ranked first in the top 500 list of the world's top supercomputers. Over the next few years, a series of domestic supercomputers, such as "Tianhe two", "divine power and light", have repeatedly hit the top of the world rankings, showing the world that China already has an incredible technological R & D capability.

In November 2013, the Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Several Major Issues Concerning the Comprehensive Deepening of Reform was issued to the public. The paper has made a strategic plan for comprehensively deepening the reform, put forward the guiding ideology, general thinking and objectives and tasks of comprehensively deepening the reform, formulated the overall plan for deepening the reform in an all-round way, established the general goal of improving and developing the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity.
