Although the profits of industrial enterprises in the first eight months of the year continued to decline, the profits of different industries continued to differentiate, and the profit growth of some major industries improved.
Among them, the total profits of mining industry reached 380.74 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1% over the same period of last year; the total profits of manufacturing industry reached 330.45 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.2%; and the total profits of electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry reached 331.11 billion yuan, an increase of 11.0%. In the first eight months, the profit of automobile and electronics industry decreased by 19.0% and 2.7% year on year, respectively, but the decline was 4.2 and 3.6 percentage points narrower than in the previous seven months. The profit of non-ferrous industry increased by 9.7% year on year, and the growth rate was 3.7 percentage points faster than in the previous seven months. The profit growth of equipment manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries has recovered to varying degrees. In the first eight months, the profit of equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 0.7% year on year, which was 2.2 percentage points narrower than that of the previous seven months; the profit of high-tech manufacturing industry and strategic emerging industry increased by 2.8% and 3.0%, respectively, and the growth rate accelerated by 1.6 percentage points and 0.5 percentage points, respectively.

In the first eight months of this year, the value-added of industries above the national scale increased by 5.6% year-on-year, which was generally stable. Among them, the growth rate in August was 4.4%, which was 0.4 percentage points lower than last month. Fu Linghui, a spokesman for the National Bureau of Statistics, said earlier that the growth rate of industrial production slowed down in August. On the one hand, it shows that the uncertainties of international environmental instability have increased significantly, the structural contradictions of domestic economy are still prominent, and there is a certain downward pressure on economic operation itself. On the other hand, occasional climatic factors also have a certain impact on industrial production in some areas. In August, there were 3 typhoons landing in China, 1.2 more than in history. Among them, the typhoon intensity of "Li Qi Ma" is the fifth strongest typhoon since the founding of new China, which has some unfavorable effects on industrial production in eastern provinces. In addition, the working day in August this year is 22 days, one day less than the same period last year, which also has a certain impact on the production of some industrial enterprises.
From the price level, in August, PPI fell by 0.8% year-on-year, and the decline was 0.5 percentage points larger than that of last month, which is the decline of PPI for two consecutive months year-on-year, and the decline of PPI for three consecutive months. The continuous decline of PPI has also affected the profitability of enterprises to a certain extent. The data also show that the ratio of assets and liabilities of Industrial Enterprises above scale is 56.8% at the end of August, which is 0.5 percentage points lower than that of the previous year. Among them, the asset-liability ratio of state-owned holding enterprises is 58.4%, which is reduced by 0.9 percentage points. Inventory turnover days of manufactured products of Industrial Enterprises above the scale are 17.2 days, a decrease of 0.2 days over the same period of last year.
