Who was the founder of modern chemistry
The founder of modern chemistry is the German physicist and Nobel laureatet Alber Einstein. The contribution of this person include his work from 1905 on quantum theory and its implications for atomic structure; it was in this work that he introduced the famous equation that bears his name, E = mc2. Alber Einstein also studied the photoelectric effect, radiation from hot objects, Brownian motion and thermodynamics. Alber Einstein died in Princeton at the age of 51.
Importance of modern chemistry
1. It helps in industrial production
This is one of the major reasons for its importance. Modern chemistry helps us in production of chemicals that are required manufacturing industries. The most common examples would be the production of plastics, new drugs, fertilizers and much more.
2. Keeps us healthy
This is another important reason for the importance of modern chemistry. In this age of chemical products, it is very important to make sure that we consume only good products and avoid those with side effects like cancer causing substances. Modern chemistry also contributes to the production of new molecules which are very useful in development of new medicines. The common examples are antiviral drugs, analgesic drugs, antibiotics and many more. It also helps in synthesis of natural resources like byproducts, new plants and many more.
6. Reactions between molecules
Modern chemistry also focuses on understanding the reaction between molecules.For example it helped the researchers to understand the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide which is known as neutralization reaction. The result of this research helped us in understanding various other types of reactions like respiration, combustion etc... It also helps in designing synthetic processes for various chemicals which are otherwise not possible to produce in nature with some exceptions like salt.
7. Invention of new products
The invention of new chemicals and their application also contributes to the invention of new products. For example, the petroleum based chemicals have helped us in fuel and lubricant industries that in turn have helped in many other industries such as agriculture, transportation etc. In this way these chemicals have helped people a lot especially economically.
8. Lubrication and Inks
In modern chemistry, the development of petroleum based chemicals has also helped in the development of lubricants and inks which are very important for practical purposes. The result is that we can easily write or work in places where there is no proper operating conditions such as in a very cold place. We can also use ink for writing because it does not make records fade easily unlike normal paper which can get destroyed by exposure to air. The founder of modern chemistry helped this to happen.
9. Development of new chemicals for explosives and medicines
Another major invention from chemistry is the development of new chemicals for explosives like dynamite and nitro compounds so that better explosives can be manufactured. This has also helped in the development of new medicines as well as drugs that are not very easily available.
10. Dyes and Paints
This is another important contribution of modern chemistry to our society. Modern chemistry has enabled us to produce different types of dyes and paints that can be used for aesthetic purposes or for providing protection from the sun rays etc. These are also produced from natural resources which are not easily available like the production of certain types of fibers from plant leaves etc. It has also helped us in the development of a range of synthetic materials that can be used in place of animal skin products like leather products, medicines etc) thus reducing the loss to animal life due to various reasons.
In conclusion we can see that the use of modern chemistry has helped us a lot in our lives to become economically better. The industry of chemical production is yet another economy that has grown to immense proportions and is constantly increasing at a very high rate. The founder of modern chemistry therefore brought more advantages.
