China's transport production growth remained basically stable in September

The Research Institute of the Ministry of transport released the China transportation production index in September. Overall, the transportation production growth in September remained basically stable. In September this year, China's transportation production index was 175.7 points, up 4.3% year on year. During the summer vacation from July to August this year, the passenger traffic volume of high-speed rail and civil aviation increased rapidly, which was the first time in recent years that it grew faster than that in the first half of the year. The travel demand was relatively strong, releasing part of the demand in September to some extent. The CTSI passenger transport index was 166.4 points, up 2.4% year on year; the CTSI freight transport index was 181.0 points, up 5.3% year on year.
China transportation production index (CTSI for short) is a comprehensive index reflecting the overall operation of the transportation industry, which is constructed from the perspective of comprehensive transportation and based on the basic indicators of passenger and freight traffic volume of railway, highway, waterway and civil aviation. The base period of the index is 2010, and the benchmark value is 100 points. It is composed of two sub indexes, i.e. comprehensive index and passenger and freight index.
