What Is Ethylene Dichloride

Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) is a colorless and transparent liquid. It is miscible with ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform, acetone and other organic solvents and dissolves in about 120 parts of water. Flammable, its vapour and air can form an explosive mixture, in the presence of open flame, high heat can cause combustion, or even explosion, and emit toxic gases. Most market participants are waiting for a major Northeast Asian producer to announce the results of the bid, and the company is expected to announce the results on Friday. Selling sentiment was supported by tight supply, but some participants said that the market is expected to weaken due to the collapse of prices in the main downstream PVC market.
