November 20, news
According to the commodity market analysis system, as of November 20, 2025, the reference price for n-butanol in Shandong, China is 5,066 CNY per ton. Compared to November 16 (when the reference price for n-butanol was 5,150 CNY per ton), the price has decreased by 67 CNY per ton, a 1.27% decrease.
Insufficient Support, the Focus of n-Butanol in Shandong Continues to Decline This Week
From the commodity market analysis system, it can be seen that this week, the market focus for n-butanol in Shandong region of China continued to move downward. During the week, some factories in Shandong continued to lower the ex-factory prices of n-butanol, with a reduction of around 50-100 CNY per ton. The overall negotiation center for n-butanol moved towards a lower position. As of November 20th, the market price for n-butanol in the Shandong region was approximately 5050-5100 CNY per ton.
Market Factor Analysis
Demand Side: This week, downstream demand for n-butanol remained weak overall, with a noticeable decline in plant operating rates. Consequently, procurement of the raw material n-butanol also fell sharply. Downstream buyers have been primarily opting for lower-priced opportunities, adopting a cautious, wait-and-see approach amid generally subdued market activity. As a result, demand is failing to provide sufficient support for n-butanol prices.
Supply aspect: Currently, the overall supply of n-butanol is relatively loose, with suppliers actively shipping goods, and the support from the supply side for n-butanol also appears to be weakening.
Future Market Forecast
Currently, the butanol market in Shandong, China, is experiencing a relatively low trading atmosphere. Recently, the upward trend in the price of propylene, a raw material, has put some cost pressure on butanol. Butanol data analysts predict that in the short term, the butanol market in Shandong will mainly see minor adjustments. Specific developments will require close attention to changes in supply and demand dynamics.
