Ministry of transport: completed 2.6 trillion yuan of fixed assets investment

According to the Ministry of transport, in October, the transportation economy was running steadily. Among them, the investment in fixed assets of transportation continued to grow, roads and waterways completed the task target of 1.8 trillion yuan in advance, business passenger traffic continued to decline slightly, and port cargo throughput maintained a steady growth. Freight volume and public transport passenger volume in central cities kept growing, with a slight slowdown in growth. The investment in fixed assets of transportation continued to increase from January to October, and the investment in fixed assets of transportation was 2626.7 billion yuan, up 2.6% year on year. The investment in highway and waterway construction reached 1923.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%, and the annual target of 1.8 trillion yuan was completed ahead of schedule, including 1809.3 billion yuan in highway construction, an increase of 2.6%, 89.7 billion yuan in waterway construction, a decrease of 2.2%.

Driven by the elimination of the in-depth promotion of highway toll stations, 24.1 billion yuan in support system and other construction was completed, a significant increase of 445.3%. The business passenger volume continued to decline slightly in October, with 1.56 billion business passengers completed, down 2.7% year-on-year, including 4.9% decline in Road business passenger volume and 2.4% decline in waterway passenger volume. From January to October, 14.9 billion operational passenger traffic was completed, down 1.8% year on year. Among them, the traffic volume of highway business decreased by 4.8%, the traffic volume of highway passenger cars increased by 8.5%, and the traffic volume of waterway passenger cars decreased by 2.3%. In October, the growth rate of public transport passenger volume in central cities slowed down slightly, and the passenger volume of 36 central cities completed 5.69 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%.

The growth rate slowed by 1.4 percentage points compared with that in September, including 2.02 billion rail transit passenger volume, an increase of 10.6%. From January to October, the passenger volume of public transport in 36 central cities reached 55.74 billion, an increase of 3.1% year on year, of which the passenger volume of rail transit reached 19.2 billion, an increase of 12.7%. The growth of business freight volume slowed down in October, with 4.74 billion tons of business freight volume completed, up 2.5% year-on-year, 2.8 percentage points slower than that in September, including 1.5% growth of road freight volume and 4.8% growth of waterway freight volume. From January to October, 43.64 billion tons of business freight were completed, an increase of 5.5% year on year, including 5.2% for road freight and 6.5% for waterway freight. In October, the port cargo throughput maintained a steady growth, and the national port cargo throughput reached 1.21 billion tons, a year-on-year growth of 4.3%, of which the domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 2.9% and 7.2% respectively; the container throughput reached 22.11 million TEUs, a year-on-year growth of 2.1%. From January to October, China's ports completed cargo throughput of 11.51 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%, of which domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 5.5% and 4.3% respectively; container throughput reached 217.29 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.
