Sinopec officially obtains the second shale gas mining right
November 19, Sinopec Group announced that the new application for the mining right of "Sichuan Basin Weirong shale gas exploitation" declared by Southwest Oil and gas company passed the examination of the Ministry of natural resources and obtained the mining license. The mining right is the second shale gas mining right obtained by Sinopec after the reef dam block of Fuling shale gas field. According to the data of Fuling shale gas field, the capacity construction project of jiaoshiba block phase I project has built the largest shale gas field in the world except North America. By the end of 2015, Fuling shale gas field successfully completed the goal of 5 billion m3 / a production capacity construction, marking the first large-scale shale gas field phase I in China to achieve commercial development was officially completed and put into operation. Weirong shale gas field is located in Neijiang City and Zigong City of Sichuan Province. At present, phase I production capacity construction is under way, among which the daily production of natural gas from two wells of Weiye 23 platform is 313000 m3 and 253000 m3 respectively, which is better than expected, showing a good prospect of exploration and development of Weirong shale gas field. According to Sinopec official news, southwest oil and gas company is rich in shale gas resources with great exploration and development potential, mainly distributed in southern Sichuan, Western Chongqing and Northern Guizhou. Since 2015, a number of shale gas wells, such as Yongye 1hf well, Weiye 1hf well and Weiye 23-1hf well, have achieved high production successively, made major exploration breakthroughs, and found shale gas reservoir of Wufeng Formation Longmaxi formation in Weirong shale gas field.
In 2018, the proven reserves of Weirong shale gas field were submitted as a whole over 100 billion cubic meters, marking a major breakthrough in the field of deep shale gas in China. In recent years, Sinopec shale gas exploration has been speeding up. The newly proved reserves of Weirong shale gas field in Sichuan Basin are 124.7 billion cubic meters, becoming another major commercial shale gas discovery after Fuling shale gas field. Jiaoye 10hf well in Jinfo slope of Nanchuan has been tested for stable industrial gas flow, and the important discovery of atmospheric shale gas exploration in complex structural belt at basin margin has been obtained. On April 18, 2018, Fuling shale gas field completed an annual production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters as scheduled, producing 6.02 billion cubic meters of shale gas and selling 5.78 billion cubic meters of shale gas throughout the year, maintaining the first production and sales volume in China. Recently, two new wells Jiaoye 181-2hf and 181-3hf of Fuling shale gas field in Chongqing were put into production successfully, with a daily gas increase of 230000 m3. It is reported that two new wells have been put into production successfully in one time, effectively supplementing the production capacity of the gas field, laying a solid foundation for fully promoting the 7 billion cubic meters of production efficiency leading project and successfully completing the production target task in 2019.
