PPG foundation invested $25000 in stem education project in Dallas

ECHEMI 2019-12-23

PPG announced that PPG foundation invested $25000 to support science, technology, engineering and Mathematics (stem) education programs in Dallas. These grants fulfill PPG's commitment to the company's community and the foundation's opportunities to increase stem youth education. This fund was donated on behalf of PPG construction coating business in 2018, and operates nearly 40 PPG coating suppliers in Dallas Fort Worth area. The foundation has provided us $15000 for "lighting up stem" to encourage and help more than 1000 primary and secondary school students from various communities through stem training and education related to the industry. $10000 of that is spent at Lorenzo de Zavala primary school to help students buy laptops, which provide new learning opportunities for students, including programming, robotics and virtual experiences. Last July, more than 20 PPG employee volunteers completed a color community project to help revive the school's libraries and cafes through the power of paint and color change. OKEY maduka, sales manager of PPG for architectural coatings in Dallas Fort Worth, said that by providing local young people with the tools they need in fields such as science, they can also help stimulate their enthusiasm and promote innovation in science and technology.
