Continue to actively expand imports to meet consumer consumption upgrading needs
China's market will continue to open wider to the outside world and more foreign high-quality products and services are welcome to enter China to better meet the needs of domestic consumers' consumption upgrading, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday. The Tariff Commission of the State Council recently issued a circular to adjust the import tariff of some commodities from January 1, 2020. Gaofeng said that further reduction of import tariff will reduce the cost of import and stimulate the potential of import. Gaofeng said that the Ministry of Commerce will focus on the following aspects and actively expand imports: first, cultivate a number of import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zones. The Ministry of Commerce will give full play to its policy advantages, encourage innovation in regulatory system, service function and trading mode, promote the construction of innovation platform for import trade by cultivating import trade distribution centers, and constantly improve the radiation leading role of the demonstration zone. Second, we will further improve trade facilitation. The Ministry of Commerce will actively promote the full implementation of the WTO trade facilitation agreement. At present, the implementation rate of the agreement has reached 96.2%. The remaining measures will be fully implemented before February 22, 2020, and the level of trade facilitation will be further improved. The third is to further enlarge the platform promotion effect of China International Import Expo. At present, the preparations for the third China International Import Expo are in a tense and orderly way. More than 300 enterprises have signed up for the Expo, covering an area of over 100000 square meters.
