The supply and demand of power coal at the mine will be weak

ECHEMI 2020-02-10

Last week's market overview last week, the supply of main production areas continued to tighten, with fixed production and digestion of inventory as the main, weak supply and demand, and stable price of pithead power coal as the main. The port inventory continued to decline, and the closing price of power coal rebounded 4 CNY/ton. In terms of production areas, some private mines will continue to stop production and have holidays on the 18th, and the supply of coal in the main production areas will be further tightened. However, in the later period of rainy and snowy weather, the probability of coal transportation being blocked is large, and the willingness of power plants to replenish the storage near the Spring Festival will also decrease, so the pressure of coal mine inventory will increase. Affected by this, some coal mines began to stop production and clean up, and the sales pressure of large state-owned mines increased. It is expected that this week, the supply and demand of power coal at the mine mouth are weak, and the price fluctuation at the mine mouth is weak. In terms of port, next week, the plant will basically enter the state of shutdown and holiday, and the demand for industrial power will slow down significantly. After the coal consumption of six major coastal power groups has started to drop to 700000 tons, the available days will be 22 days. The power plant will continue to focus on lengthening cooperative coal, and the purchase of spot goods will decline positively, as well as anchor ships. It is expected that the port supply and demand are weak this week, with fewer transactions and stable prices.
