Port resources tight quotation continues to rise

ECHEMI 2020-02-14

In terms of production area, the overall supply in Yulin area continues to be tight, supporting the stable and rising coal price in the region. In addition, Yulin City issued relevant documents on epidemic prevention and control, requiring four coal producing counties, namely, Yuyang District, Hengshan District, Shenmu city and Fugu County, not to stop the issuance of coal metering tickets, not to block the transportation channel, and it is expected that the subsequent coal supply situation will be alleviated; in order to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control, most coal mines in Inner Mongolia started late, RONGTONG, dachengxi, jigustai and tuoxian Jiajia And the four coal logistics parks are temporarily closed, all large vehicles are forbidden to pass, the trade is light, and the price of coal in the region is stable and rising. On the port side, due to the tight port resources and the increasing demand of small and medium-sized power plants and cement industry users, the port market sentiment continues to heat up, and the quotation of traders continues to go up. Now, the mainstream quotation of cv5500 is 568-572 CNY/ton, and that of cv5000 is 510-512 CNY/ton, and the downstream inquiry price also moves up under the shortage of resources. In terms of imported coal, affected by the Spring Festival holidays and the new coronavirus epidemic situation, the number of Australian coal transported to China has decreased in recent years. According to relevant data, the number of Chinese coal shipped to Newcastle port in Australia in the last week of January 2020 was 513 thousand and 900 tons, a decrease of 3.64% over the previous week. In addition, from February 1 to March 2, the Mongolian government decided to impose temporary restrictions on all China Mongolia border ports, including air, railway and road ports, which will affect the supply of Mongolian coal. Judging from the current situation, the supply of imported coal tends to tighten, or the price of coal will be raised.
