ECHEMI 2020-02-14

On February 3, China Federation of logistics and purchasing released China logistics industry prosperity index in January 2020, which was 49.9%, 8.7% lower than last month; China Warehousing index was 51.1%, 1.4% lower than last month. He Hui, director of China Logistics Information Center, said that in January, affected by the Spring Festival holiday, the logistics industry prosperity index fell to below 50%, showing obvious cyclical changes. From the perspective of industry, the logistics activities of road transportation, loading and unloading and other transportation services and express delivery industry are still relatively active. In terms of varieties, driven by Festival factors, the logistics activities of clothing, food and daily necessities related to people's livelihood are relatively vigorous. At present, it is in the critical period of epidemic prevention and control, and the epidemic will affect the logistics demand in the short term. After the epidemic is lifted, the production and consumption demand will be released, which is expected to promote the stable growth of logistics. In January, affected by the slowdown of production and construction activities, the weakening of the growth of logistics business scale, the return of employees during the Spring Festival and other factors, the decline of employee index was more obvious, 3.6 percentage points lower than last month, down to 48.6%. With the change of the epidemic situation and the continuous improvement of workers' awareness of the logistics industry, the short-term labor demand gap of the logistics industry as a supporting industry in the city will gradually stabilize. From the later trend, the new order index is 50.1%, and the expected index of business activities is 51.6%, indicating that the logistics activities will maintain a moderate growth and smooth operation in the new production and construction cycle.
