Ichthyosis vulgaris is also known as ichthyosis simplex, xeroderma, dominant ichthyosis vulgaris or ichthyosis nitida. It is an autosomal dominant disease and is a common and frequently occurring disease. The incidence rate is about 1/250. This disease is similar to the so-called snake body, snake skin and snake fetus in traditional Chinese medicine.
