Multisystem organ failure
Multiple systemic organ failure (MSOF), also known as multi-organ failure (MOF), is a clinical syndrome in which two or more organs fail simultaneously or sequentially after severe infection, trauma, major surgery, pathological obstetrics, etc. The concept of MSOF began in the late 1960s and early 1970s. At that time, it was a new clinical syndrome, so it was also called the 1970s syndrome. It is also a hot topic of research in the medical community at home and abroad.
