Chronic bullous diseases in children
Chronic bullous disease of childhood is a chronic, non-hereditary bullous skin disease in children. It is more common in Asian and African children than in Western countries. This disease is the same as linear IgA bullous skin disease in children. Its clinical manifestations are similar to juvenile pemphigoid. Immunopathology shows linear deposition of IgA along the basement membrane zone, and no IgG or IgA can be detected in the serum. Immunological tests should be repeated every 2 to 3 weeks. It can be treated with corticosteroids and dapsone.
