Summer dermatitis
Dermatitis aestivale is a seasonal inflammatory skin disease caused by hot weather, which usually occurs from June to August. It is more common in adults. The skin lesions occur symmetrically on the trunk and limbs, especially on the extensor side of the lower leg. It manifests as large bright red spots, with needle-sized to millet-sized papules and papulovesicles on the basis of the erythema. It is accompanied by severe itching, and scratches and blood scabs may appear after scratching. Over time, the skin becomes rough and thickened.
