Hepatothyroid syndrome
Hepato-thyroid syndrome refers to a syndrome in which chronic hepatitis and chronic thyroiditis are both present and the two are related in etiology. MC Conkey et al. first reported it in 1960. This syndrome does not include liver damage caused by intrahepatic circulation disorders or metabolic abnormalities and enhanced responses to various etiological stimuli caused by thyroid disease; nor does it include systemic malnutrition caused by chronic liver disease that affects the function of the thyroid gland.
