Glycogen storage disease type IX
Glycogen storage disease (GSD) is a type of glycogen metabolism disorder caused by congenital enzyme defects. Glycogen storage disease type IX (GSD-IX) is a group of different diseases caused by the lack of phosphorylase kinase and is a hereditary disease. It includes X-linked hereditary liver phosphorylase kinase deficiency, autosomal hereditary liver and muscle phosphorylase kinase deficiency, specific muscle phosphorylase kinase deficiency and cardiac phosphorylase kinase deficiency.
