Empty nose syndrome
Iatrogenic atrophic rhinitis, also known as empty nose syndrome, is a nasal syndrome caused by turbinate resection or similar surgery. Its main characteristics are nasal congestion and dryness of the nasal cavity and/or nasopharynx and pharynx. Nasal examination can reveal that the patient's nasal cavity is spacious and "cylindrical". Currently, some researchers believe that excessive turbinate resection can lead to secondary nasal mucosal atrophy and a series of associated symptoms.
