Atrophic rhinitis
Atrophic rhinitis is a slowly developing atrophic inflammation of the nasal cavity, characterized by atrophy of the nasal mucosa, periosteum, and bone. Severe cases with typical foul odor are called ozena. It usually begins in adolescence and is more common in women than in men.
