Cefuroxime Sodium for Injection
The main ingredient of this product is cefuroxime sodium and its chemical name is: (6R,7S)-7-[(S)-2-[(2-amino-2-carboxyethyl)thio]acetylamino]-7alpha;-methoxy-3-[(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)thio]methyl]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid sodium salt heptahydrate
Name Description Content CAS NO. Registered Holders
CEFMINOX SODIUM

It has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Haemophilus influenzae, Proteus and Bacteroides fragilis. Its mechanism of action is that it shows a strong affinity for penicillin-binding protein, which is the usual point of action of beta-lactam antibiotics, inhibits cell wall synthesis, binds to peptidoglycan, inhibits the binding of peptidoglycan to lipoprotein to promote bacteriolysis, and shows a strong bactericidal effect in a short time. This product shows antibacterial effect on bacteria during the proliferation period and the early stage of the stable period, and has a bactericidal effect at concentrations lower than the MIC, and lyses bacteria in a short time. The antibacterial effect in vivo is stronger than the prediction of MIC.

This product is a first-generation cephalosporin for injection. Its antibacterial effect on positive cocci exceeds that of the second and third generations. Its effect on negative bacilli ranks first among the first-generation cephalosporins, but is not as good as the second generation, let alone the third generation. It has a stronger effect on Gram-negative bacteria and weaker resistance to beta-lactamase of Staphylococcus. It has no antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter and anaerobic Bacteroides fragilis. The antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of cephalexin, and it has antibacterial effects on Staphylococci (including enzyme-producing strains), Streptococci (except Enterococci), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella, Haemophilus influenzae and Enterobacter aerogenes.
