Cefotaxime is a third-generation cephalosporin with a broad antibacterial spectrum. It has strong activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella and Salmonella, and other Enterobacteriaceae. It also has a good effect on Proteus vulgaris and Citrobacter. Enterobacter cloacae and Enterobacter aerogenes are relatively resistant to this product. This product has no antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Alcaligenes. Cefotaxime has a strong effect on influenza bacilli, Neisseria gonorrhoeae (including beta-lactamase-producing strains), Neisseria meningitidis and Moraxella catarrhalis. This product has poor antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, strong activity against Gram-positive cocci such as hemolytic Streptococcus and Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Enterococcus is resistant to this product.

This product is an oral third-generation cephalosporin with a broad antibacterial spectrum. It has antibacterial activity against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially against Streptococcus (except Enterococcus) and Pneumococcus among Gram-positive bacteria, and gonococci, Branhamella, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Serratia, Proteus, and influenza bacilli among Gram-negative bacteria. Its mechanism of action is to prevent the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Its action point varies with the type of bacteria. It has a high affinity with PBP1 (1a, 1b, 1c) and PBP3 among penicillin-binding proteins (PBP). This product has a strong stability against β-lactamases produced by various bacteria.

It has a wide range of antibacterial effects on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially on Streptococcus and Pneumococcus among Gram-positive bacteria, and Gonorrhea, Borrelia, Escherichia coli, Serratia, Klebsiella, Proteus, and Haemophilus influenzae among Gram-negative bacteria. Since this product is extremely stable to beta-lactamase produced by various bacteria, it also has excellent antibacterial properties against bacteria that produce beta-lactamase. The mechanism of action of this product is mainly to prevent the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.

Cefazolin is a first-generation cephalosporin with a broad antibacterial spectrum. Except for Enterococcus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, this product has good antibacterial activity against other Gram-positive cocci, and Streptococcus pneumoniae and hemolytic Streptococcus are highly sensitive to this product. Diphtheria Corynebacterium, anthrax Bacillus, Listeria and Clostridium are also very sensitive to this product. This product has good antibacterial activity against some Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Klebsiella pneumoniae, but has poor antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus. Salmonella typhi, Shigella and Neisseria are sensitive to this product, while other Enterobacteriaceae, Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are resistant. Enzyme-producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae is resistant to this product; Haemophilus influenzae is only moderately sensitive. Gram-positive anaerobes and some Gram-negative anaerobes are mostly sensitive to this product. Bacteroides fragilis is resistant.

This product is a first-generation cephalosporin, which has good antibacterial effect on some strains of Gram-positive cocci such as non-penicillinase-producing and penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative Staphylococci, group A hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae and viridans streptococci. Anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria are mostly sensitive to this product, while Bacteroides fragilis is resistant to it. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci and Enterococci are resistant to this product. The effect of this product on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria is similar to that of cephalexin. This product has a certain effect on gonococci and is also active against enzyme-producing gonococci; its activity against Haemophilus influenzae is poor.
