Atorvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase. It reduces plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein levels by inhibiting the synthesis of HMG-CoA reductase and cholesterol in the liver, and increases the number of LDL receptors on the surface of liver cells to enhance the uptake and degradation of low-density lipoproteins. It can reduce total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B levels, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein A-1 levels.

This product can selectively inhibit the reuptake of 5-hydroxytryptamine by the central nervous system, thereby increasing the concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the synaptic cleft and exerting an antidepressant effect.

It forms a protective layer in the intestine to prevent the invasion of pathogens and viruses; stimulates the intestine to secrete antibodies and improves intestinal immunity; selectively kills intestinal pathogens, protects and promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria; regulates the electrolyte and water balance of the intestinal mucosa; promotes the secretion of gastric juice and enhances digestive function.

Doxazosin is a selective α-receptor blocker. It selectively and competitively blocks postganglionic α1-adrenergic receptors to dilate blood vessels, reduce vascular resistance, and lower blood pressure. Doxazosin is an effective blocker of the A1 subtype of α1-adrenergic receptors, and more than 70% of prostate α1 receptors are A1 subtypes. Therefore, it can improve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia by selectively blocking α1-adrenergic receptors (mainly A1 subtypes) located in the matrix, capsule, and bladder neck smooth muscle. Doxazosin can moderately increase the ratio of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol to total cholesterol, but its clinical significance has not yet been determined. In vitro studies have shown that 5μmol of doxazosin 6,- and 7,-hydroxylated metabolites have antioxidant effects.
