Function and Efficacy
This product is a pyrrolidone derivative, and its chemical structure is different from that of traditional anti-epileptic drugs. This product has a strong anti-epileptic effect, and its mechanism of action is still unclear. In vivo and in vitro tests have shown that this product does not change cell characteristics and neurotransmission function. Animal experiments have confirmed that this product is effective for partial epileptic seizures and generalized seizures without convulsions; in human clinical applications, it has also been confirmed that this product is effective for partial and generalized epileptic seizures. The effective dose and toxic dose of this product are far apart, and the safety is relatively good.

Usage and Dosage
Oral administration. It should be swallowed with an appropriate amount of water and should not be affected by food.
Adverse Reactions
The safety data summarized from adult clinical studies showed that the incidence of adverse reactions in the drug group and the placebo group were similar, at 46.4% and 42.2%, respectively. Among them, serious adverse reactions were 2.4% and 2.0%, respectively. The most common adverse reactions were drowsiness, fatigue, and dizziness, which often occurred at the beginning of treatment. Over time, the incidence and severity of adverse reactions related to the central nervous system will decrease. There is no obvious dose-related adverse reaction to levetiracetam.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to levetiracetam or to pyrrolidone derivatives or any of the other ingredients.

Drug Interactions
1. When used in combination with evening primrose oil, it may increase the risk of epileptic seizures. 2. This product has no interaction with other anti-epileptic drugs (phenytoin sodium, carbamazepine, valproic acid, phenobarbital, lamotrigine, gabapentin, primidone, etc.). 3. This product has no interaction with oral contraceptives (such as mestranol, norethindrone, ethinyl estradiol, levonorgestrel, etc.). 4. This product has no interaction with digitalis and warfarin.
