Tinidazole Sodium Chloride Injection
Function and Efficacy
This product has high activity against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It has antibacterial activity against Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium, Rhizobacterium, Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Veillonella and Gardnerella, and a concentration of 2-4 mg/L can inhibit most anaerobic bacteria; microaerophilic bacteria and Helicobacter pylori are sensitive to it; the MIC for Trichomonas vaginalis is similar to that of metronidazole, and its metabolites are more active against Gardnerella than metronidazole. The mechanism of action of this product has not been fully elucidated. The nitroreductase of anaerobic bacteria plays an important role in the energy metabolism of sensitive strains. The nitro group of this product is reduced to a cytotoxin, which acts on the DNA metabolism process of bacteria and promotes the death of bacteria. Resistant bacteria often lack nitroreductase and are resistant to this product. The mechanism of this product against amoeba is to inhibit its redox reaction, break the nitrogen chain of the protozoa, and thus kill the protozoa.

Indication
Used for various anaerobic infections, such as sepsis, osteomyelitis, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, and lung and bronchial infection.
Usage and Dosage
Intravenous drip. 1. Anaerobic infection: 0.8g once, once a day, intravenous drip slowly, generally 5 to 6 days, or according to the condition. 2. Prevention of postoperative anaerobic infection: total amount 1.6g, drip once or twice, the first time 2 to 4 hours before surgery, the second time during surgery or within 12 to 24 hours after surgery.
Adverse Reactions
Adverse reactions are rare and mild, mainly nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and bad breath, dizziness, headache, vertigo, itchy skin, rash, constipation and general discomfort. Angioedema, neutropenia, disulfiram-like reaction and dark urine may also occur, and mild phlebitis at the infusion site may occasionally occur. High doses may also cause epileptic seizures and peripheral neuropathy.
Precautions
1. Patients who are allergic to tinidazole and nitroso-imidazol derivatives are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients with blood diseases or a history of blood diseases and patients with active central nervous system diseases are prohibited from using this product. 3. Women who are within three months of pregnancy and breastfeeding women are prohibited from using this product. 4. Patients under 12 years old are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: It is contraindicated for patients under 12 years old. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product can pass through the placenta and quickly enter the fetal circulation. Animal experiments have found that intraperitoneal administration is toxic to the fetus. There is no sufficient and strict control observation on the effect of this product on the fetus, so it should be contraindicated within 3 months of pregnancy. Pregnant women over 3 months old should only use this product when there is a clear indication. The concentration of this product in breast milk is similar to that in blood. Animal experiments have shown that this product has a carcinogenic effect on young mice, so breastfeeding women should avoid using it. If the drug must be used, breastfeeding should be suspended, and breastfeeding can only be allowed 3 days after stopping the drug. Precautions for the elderly: Due to impaired liver function, the pharmacokinetics of this product are changed when used in the elderly, and the blood drug concentration needs to be monitored.
Drug Interactions
1. This product can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, enhance their effects, and cause the prothrombin time to be prolonged. 2. When used in combination with drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes such as phenytoin sodium and phenobarbital, it can enhance the metabolism of this product, reduce the blood drug concentration, and slow down the excretion of phenytoin sodium. 3. When used in combination with drugs that inhibit the activity of liver microsomal enzymes such as cimetidine, it can slow down the metabolism and excretion of this product in the liver, prolong the blood elimination half-life (t1/2β) of this product, and the dosage should be adjusted according to the results of blood drug concentration determination. 4. This product interferes with the metabolism of disulfiram. When the two are used together, patients may experience mental symptoms after drinking. Therefore, patients who have used disulfiram within 2 weeks should not use this product again. 5. This product can interfere with the results of serum aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase determinations, and can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
