Tinidazole Sodium Chloride Injection

Function and Efficacy

This product has high activity against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It has antibacterial activity against Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium, Clostridium, Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Veillonella and Gardnerella, and a concentration of 2-4 mg/L can inhibit most anaerobic bacteria; microaerophilic bacteria and Helicobacter pylori are sensitive to it; the MIC for Trichomonas vaginalis is similar to that of metronidazole, and its metabolites are more active against Gardnerella than metronidazole. The mechanism of action of this product has not been fully elucidated. The nitroreductase of anaerobic bacteria plays an important role in the energy metabolism of sensitive strains. The nitro group of this product is reduced to a cytotoxin, which acts on the DNA metabolism process of bacteria and promotes the death of bacteria. Resistant bacteria often lack nitroreductase and are resistant to this product. The mechanism of this product against amoeba is to inhibit its redox reaction, break the nitrogen chain of the protozoa, and thus kill the protozoa.

Appearance

This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Indication

Used for various anaerobic infections, such as sepsis, osteomyelitis, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, and lung and bronchial infection.

Usage and Dosage

Intravenous drip. 1. Anaerobic infection: 0.8g once, once a day, intravenous drip slowly, generally 5 to 6 days, or according to the condition. 2. Prevention of postoperative anaerobic infection: total amount 1.6g, drip once or twice, the first time 2 to 4 hours before surgery, the second time during surgery or within 12 to 24 hours after surgery.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions are rare and mild, mainly nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and bad breath, dizziness, headache, vertigo, itchy skin, rash, constipation and general discomfort. Angioedema, neutropenia, disulfiram-like reaction and dark urine may also occur, and mild phlebitis at the infusion site may occasionally occur. High doses may also cause epileptic seizures and peripheral neuropathy.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to tinidazole and nitroso-imidazol derivatives; 2. It is contraindicated for patients with blood diseases or a history of blood diseases, and patients with active central nervous system diseases; 3. It is contraindicated for women within three months of pregnancy and breastfeeding women; 4. It is contraindicated for patients under 12 years old.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Patients under 12 years old are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Women within three months of pregnancy and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Due to decreased liver function, the pharmacokinetics of this product may change when used in the elderly, and blood drug concentrations need to be monitored.

Drug Interactions

1. This product can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, strengthen their effects, and cause prolongation of prothrombin time. 2. When combined with drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes such as phenytoin and phenobarbital, the metabolism of this product can be enhanced, resulting in a decrease in blood concentration and slowdown in the excretion of phenytoin. 3. When combined with drugs that inhibit liver microsomal enzyme activity such as cimetidine, the metabolism and excretion of this product in the liver can be slowed down, and the blood elimination half-life (T1/2β) of this product can be prolonged. The dose should be adjusted based on the results of blood drug concentration measurement. 4. This product interferes with the metabolism of disulfiram. When the two are used together, patients may develop mental symptoms after drinking alcohol. Therefore, patients who have used disulfiram within 2 weeks should not use this product again. 5. This product can interfere with the measurement results of serum aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase, and can reduce cholesterol and triacylglycerol levels.

Storage

Keep away from light, tightly closed, in a cool place.
