It is a thioxanthene derivative with a strong dopamine receptor blocking effect. In addition to blocking D1 and D2 receptors, it can also inhibit D2 autoreceptors and increase the DA concentration between synapses. It has no sedative effect. Its antipsychotic effect is 4 to 8 times stronger than that of Telden. In addition, it also has antidepressant and antianxiety effects.

The usual dose is 1 mg twice a day, with an increase of 500 μg each time, up to a maximum of 3 mg per day. The dosage can be reduced for the elderly.

Extrapyramidal symptoms are common. They are mainly extrapyramidal reactions, with occasional transient insomnia. Long-term use of the drug may cause tardive dyskinesia.

Patients with impaired heart, liver and kidney function, those with a history of epilepsy, and pregnant women should use it with caution. Although it has no sedative effect, it can affect driving and operating machinery, so you should be careful when using it. Patients with alcohol poisoning, drug poisoning, coma and heart failure should not use this product. This product should not be used in overly excited or overactive patients.

Large doses can increase the effects of ethanol, barbiturates and other central nervous system depressants. It can block the antihypertensive effect of guanethidine and weaken the effects of levodopa and adrenaline. Combination with metoclopramide and piperazine can increase the occurrence of extrapyramidal symptoms.
