Lafutidine Tablets

Lafutidine is an H2 receptor blocker. It can sustainably inhibit gastric acid secretion and act on the capsaicin-sensitive afferent neurons in the gastric mucosa to protect the gastric mucosa, promote mucosal repair, increase gastric mucosal blood flow, and increase gastric mucus secretion.

The main ingredient of this product is lafutidine, and its chemical name is: (±)-2-[2-(furanmethyl)sulfinyl]-N-[4-[4-(piperidinylmethyl)-2-pyridinyl]oxy-(Z)-2-butenyl]acetamide.

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the film coating.

Used for gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

For adults, take orally 10 mg (1 tablet) twice a day, after meals or before bedtime.

The side effects are mild. A few patients experience headache, drowsiness, diarrhea, nausea, skin flushing, rash, leukopenia, occasional thrombocytopenia, increased GOT and GPT, etc. The incidence of side effects is low, the toxicity is low, and the tolerance is good.

This product is contraindicated for use by persons known to be allergic to this product or its ingredients.

Precautions for children: Safety for children has not been established and there is no experience of use. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant are prohibited. Precautions for the elderly: The physiological functions of the elderly are generally reduced, so it is necessary to pay attention to the dosage and dosing interval, and administer the drug with caution under close observation.

Other H2 receptor blockers can bind to cytochrome P450, thereby reducing the activity of liver microsomal drug-metabolizing enzymes. Therefore, caution should be exercised when this product is used in combination with warfarin, phenytoin sodium, theophylline, phenobarbital, diazepam or propranolol and cimetidine.
