Appearance

The content of this product is white or off-white powder.

Indication

Used for peptic ulcer (gastric and duodenal ulcer), acute gastric mucosal lesions, reflux esophagitis and gastrinoma.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration. 20 mg (1 tablet at a time), twice a day, after breakfast, dinner or before bedtime. 4 to 6 weeks is a course of treatment. After the ulcer heals, the maintenance dose is halved. The dosage and course of treatment for reflux esophagitis should be based on the condition or follow the doctor's advice.

Adverse Reactions

A small number of patients may experience dry mouth, dizziness, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, rash, facial flushing, leukopenia, and occasionally mild transient increase in transaminase.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or have severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions for children: Not for use in children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not for use in pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

Drug Interactions

This product does not interact with liver cytochrome P450 enzymes, so it does not affect the metabolism of drugs such as theophylline, phenytoin sodium, warfarin and diazepam, nor does it affect the body distribution of procainamide, etc. However, probenecid will inhibit the excretion of famotidine from the renal tubules.
