Invert Sugar Injection

Function and Efficacy

Nutritional medicine. This product is a compound preparation, made by mixing equal amounts of fructose and glucose. Fructose metabolism can bypass the rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis, fructose kinase, and has a fast metabolism rate, which can effectively reduce blood sugar fluctuations. Since the activity of fructokinase does not depend on the regulation of insulin, fructose can be metabolized into glycogen in the absence of insulin; glucose metabolism is slower than fructose, and can provide sustainable energy. This product rarely relies on insulin to participate in metabolism, and its energy utilization rate is significantly greater than that of monosaccharides, which can reduce the incidence of clinical ketoacidosis. While providing energy quickly and fully, the effect on blood sugar level fluctuations is significantly less than that of glucose. A comparative study of invert sugar and sucrose showed that there was no significant difference in blood glucose levels between the two groups of patients with normal and abnormal glucose tolerance after using invert sugar, and the increase in blood insulin levels in patients with abnormal glucose tolerance after using invert sugar was significantly less than that of using sucrose. Three studies, including systemic allergy test, hemolytic test and vascular irritation test, showed that invert sugar injection has a high safety and no adverse reactions were found.

beta-D-FructopyranoseIngredients

Fructose metabolism can bypass the rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis, fructose kinase, and has a faster metabolic rate, which can effectively reduce blood sugar fluctuations. Since the activity of fructokinase is not dependent on the regulation of insulin, fructose can be metabolized into glycogen in the absence of insulin. It can reduce the incidence of clinical ketoacidosis, and while providing rapid and sufficient energy, its impact on blood sugar level fluctuations is significantly less than that of glucose.

GLUCOSEIngredients

Glucose is metabolized more slowly than fructose and can provide sustainable energy. A comparative study of invert sugar and sucrose showed that there was no significant difference in blood glucose levels between the two groups of patients with normal and abnormal glucose tolerance after using invert sugar, and the increase in blood insulin levels in patients with abnormal glucose tolerance after using invert sugar was significantly less than that after using sucrose. Studies such as systemic allergy tests, hemolytic tests, and vascular irritation tests have shown that invert sugar injection is relatively safe and no adverse reactions were found.

Appearance

This product is a colorless liquid.

Indication

1. Drug diluent; 2. Suitable for fluid rehydration therapy for patients who need non-oral water or energy supplementation, especially in the following situations: (1) Energy supplement for diabetic patients; (2) Energy supplement for patients with insulin resistance (diabetic state) such as burns, trauma, postoperative and infection; (3) Drug poisoning; (4) Alcohol poisoning.

Usage and Dosage

Intravenous drip, the dosage depends on the condition. The usual dosage for adults is 250~1000ml each time, and the drip rate should be less than 0.5g/kg/hr (calculated as fructose).

Adverse Reactions

It is reported that invert sugar injection may cause allergic reactions such as flushing, rashes, and fever. Large doses and rapid infusion of invert sugar injection may cause lactic acidosis and hyperuricemia. Long-term use alone may cause electrolyte disorders.

Precautions

Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, gout and hyperuricemia are prohibited from using this product. Warning: Be aware that excessive or improper use of this product may cause life-threatening lactic acid poisoning. Patients with undiagnosed hereditary fructose intolerance may be at risk of death when using this product.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. If necessary, the dosage can be calculated according to age, weight and condition. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not yet clear. This product can be used in pregnant women only when it is clearly needed. Precautions for the elderly: Generally, the physical function of elderly patients is reduced, the infusion rate should be slowed down, and the injection dose should be reduced.

Drug Interactions

It should not be used with medicinal products known to be incompatible with fructose and/or glucose.
