Succimer Capsules
Function and Efficacy
Pharmacology: This product is an effective oral heavy metal detoxifier. The mechanism of action is that the two active sulfhydryl groups in the molecule can capture the metals that have been bound to the enzyme system in the tissue, forming a stable water-soluble chelate that is excreted in the urine, restoring the activity of the enzyme containing sulfhydryl groups and relieving the symptoms of poisoning caused by heavy metals. This product can specifically bind to lead, reduce the absorption and retention of lead from the gastrointestinal tract. It reduces the blood lead concentration, but after a short period of medication, it is easy to free lead from the bones and redistribute it, causing a rebound increase in blood lead, so multiple courses of medication should be used depending on the situation. This product can also form chelates with mercury, arsenic, etc. Toxicology: The LD50 of mice and rats is 3000mg/kg. Chronic toxicity studies on dogs have found that oral administration of 300mg/kg of this product per day can cause the death of some dogs.
