Ribavirin Granules

This product is a broad-spectrum antiviral drug. Its mechanism of action is mainly to inhibit inosine dehydrogenase, block the conversion of inosine-phosphate to xanthine-phosphate, thereby inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis and preventing viral replication.

Ribavirin.

This product is white or off-white soluble granules.

Suitable for viral upper respiratory tract infections and herpes virus infections of the skin.

This product should be dissolved in boiling water and taken orally. 1. Viral upper respiratory tract infection: Adults take 0.15g once, 3 times a day, for 7 consecutive days. 2. Skin herpes virus infection: Adults take 0.3g once, 3 to 4 times a day, for 7 consecutive days.

Gastrointestinal reactions such as loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, vomiting, mild diarrhea, constipation, and occasional dizziness and poor sleep may occur, and may lead to a decrease in red and white blood cells and hemoglobin.

Patients with a history of allergy to this product are contraindicated.

Precautions for children: There is currently a lack of detailed research data. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use with caution in pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: No adequate clinical studies have been conducted on patients over 65 years old. The possibility of anemia in elderly patients using ribavirin is greater than that in young patients. The renal function of the elderly is often reduced, which can easily lead to accumulation. Ribavirin is not recommended for elderly patients.

Ribavirin can inhibit the conversion of zidovudine into active zidovudine phosphate; therefore, ribavirin and zidovudine have antagonistic effects at the same time.
