Tolvaptan Tablets
Function and Efficacy
A vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist (non-peptide AVP2 receptor antagonist) that can increase the sodium ion concentration in plasma and help excess water be excreted from the urine. Enhance the kidney's ability to process water. Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) accumulates in polycystic kidney cells, which promotes cyst growth by stimulating cyst fluid secretion and lining cell proliferation. Tolvaptan is a type 2 vasopressin receptor antagonist that inhibits cAMP generation and accumulation. In a variety of PKD animal model studies, tolvaptan has shown good efficacy.

Appearance
This product is a blue tablet.
Indication
Treatment of hyponatremia caused by congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, and syndrome of inadequate antidiuretic hormone secretion.
Usage and Dosage
The usual starting dose of this product is 15 mg, once a day, which can be taken before or after meals. At least 24 hours after taking the drug, the dose can be increased to 30 mg, once a day. Depending on the serum sodium concentration, the maximum increase can be up to 60 mg, once a day. During the initial medication and dose increase, serum electrolytes and blood volume changes should be frequently tested, and fluid intake restrictions should be avoided within the first 24 hours of treatment. Adverse Reactions
Thirst, dry mouth, fatigue, constipation, frequent or excessive urination, and high blood sugar levels.
