Function and Efficacy

This product is a new generation of macrolide antibiotics, which mainly acts on Gram-positive bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, Chlamydia and Mycoplasma, etc. Its in vitro antibacterial effect is similar to that of erythromycin, and its in vivo antibacterial effect is 1-4 times stronger than that of erythromycin.

Appearance

Indication

This product is suitable for the treatment of pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, sinusitis, otitis media, acute bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by sensitive strains, pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Chlamydia pneumoniae; urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis; skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria.

Usage and Dosage

Take orally on an empty stomach, the general course of treatment is 5 to 12 days. Adults take 300 mg orally once a day; children take 5 to 10 mg/kg once a day.

Adverse Reactions

The main adverse reactions are gastrointestinal reactions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, but the incidence is significantly lower than that of erythromycin. Occasionally, there are rash, itchy skin, dizziness, headache, abnormal liver function (increased ALT and AST), and decreased peripheral blood cells.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product. It is contraindicated to be used in combination with ergotamine and dihydroergotamine.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The safety and effectiveness of the drug for children has not been established. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of the drug for pregnant women has not been established; use with caution in lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: The half-life is prolonged in people over 65 years old.

Drug Interactions

1. Vasoconstrictor drugs and ergot alkaloids cannot be used simultaneously with this product. 2. Cisapride and pimozide; both are drugs metabolized by the hepatocyte CYP3A isoenzyme, which can cause QT interval prolongation. It is not recommended to use this product in combination with the two. 3. Digoxin: This product can increase digoxin absorption. The electrocardiogram and serum cardiac glycoside levels should be monitored when the two are used in combination. 4. Midazolam: This product can increase the area under the curve of midazolam and prolong its half-life. 5. Terfenadine and astemizole: This product can cause an increase in the blood concentration of terfenadine and astemizole, causing serious ventricular arrhythmias. It cannot be used simultaneously with this product. 6. Theophylline: This product can increase its serum levels when used in combination with theophylline, leading to theophylline poisoning.
