Function and Efficacy
Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin and is an essential substance for the growth and reproduction of human cells. Folic acid tablets are transformed into tetrahydrofolic acid through the action of dihydrofolate reductase and vitamin B12. The latter combines with a variety of one-carbon units (including CH3, CH2, CHO, etc.) to form tetrahydrofolic acid coenzymes, transfer one-carbon units, and participate in many important reactions in the body and the synthesis of nucleic acids and amino acids.

Appearance
This product is yellow or orange-yellow tablets.
Indication
1. Used for folic acid deficiency caused by various reasons and megaloblastic anemia caused by folic acid deficiency; 2. Preventive administration for pregnant and lactating women; 3. Folic acid deficiency caused by chronic hemolytic anemia.
Usage and Dosage
1. Prevention of congenital neural tube defects in the fetus: Oral administration, women of childbearing age, 0.4 mg once a day from the time of pregnancy planning to the end of the third month of pregnancy. 2. Preventive medication for pregnant and lactating women: 0.4 mg once a day.
Adverse Reactions
There are few adverse reactions, and allergic reactions are rare. Long-term use may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, and bloating. When taking large amounts of folic acid, urine may turn yellow.
Precautions
Megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency cannot be treated with folic acid alone.

Drug Interactions
1. Large doses of folic acid can antagonize the anti-epileptic effects of phenobarbital, phenytoin sodium and primidone, significantly reduce the threshold of epileptic seizures, and increase the number of seizures in sensitive patients. 2. Oral administration of large doses of folic acid can affect the absorption of trace element zinc. 3. If you are taking other medicines, please consult a doctor or pharmacist before using folic acid tablets.
