Vitamin C tablets

This product is involved in the formation of antibodies and collagen in the body, tissue repair (including certain redox effects), the metabolism of phenylalanine, tyrosine, and folic acid, the utilization of iron and carbohydrates, the synthesis of fat and protein, as well as the maintenance of immune function, hydroxylation of 5-hydroxytryptamine, maintaining the integrity of blood vessels, and promoting the absorption of non-heme iron.

Vitamin C

This product is white or slightly yellow tablets.

It is used to prevent scurvy and can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for various acute and chronic infectious diseases and purpura.

Oral administration. For vitamin C supplementation: 50-100 mg per day for adults. For the treatment of vitamin C deficiency: 100-200 mg per day for adults, 3 times a day; 100-300 mg per day for children. Take for at least 2 weeks.

1. Long-term use of 2-3 grams per day can cause scurvy after discontinuation of the drug, so it is advisable to gradually reduce the dosage and discontinue the drug. 2. Long-term use of large amounts of vitamin C can cause urate, cysteine or oxalate stones. 3. Overdose (daily dosage of more than 1 gram) can cause diarrhea, red and shiny skin, headache, frequent urination (daily dosage of more than 600 mg), nausea and vomiting, and stomach cramps.

1 Vitamin C should be taken on an empty stomach, but patients with peptic ulcers should use it with caution to avoid irritation to the ulcer surface, which may lead to worsening of the ulcer, bleeding or perforation. 2 People with poor renal function should not take too much vitamin C. Long-term overdose of vitamin C may cause excessive gastric acid, gastric reflux, and even urinary stones. People with kidney deficiency should take less vitamin C. 3 Do not stop taking vitamin C suddenly after taking a large amount of vitamin C. If you stop taking it suddenly, it will cause withdrawal reactions of the drug, aggravate or relapse the symptoms. You should gradually reduce the dosage until you stop taking it completely. 4 Vitamin C should not be used in combination with isoniazid, aminophylline, streptomycin, penicillin and sulfonamides; otherwise, the efficacy of the above drugs will be reduced or ineffective due to the acidic environment. 5 Vitamin C is destructive to vitamin A.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product can pass through the placenta and be secreted into breast milk. Pregnant women who consume a large amount of this product every day may be harmful to the fetus, but this has not been confirmed by animal experiments. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

1. Oral administration of large doses of vitamin C can interfere with the anticoagulant effect of anticoagulants. 2. Combined use with barbiturates or primidone can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 3. Sodium cellulose phosphate can promote the metabolism of vitamin C into oxalate. 4. Long-term or large-scale use of vitamin C can interfere with the effect of disulfiram on ethanol. 5. Salicylic acid can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 6.
