Description

Ammonium phosphate dibasic

Ammonium phosphate Dibasic (Ammonium phosphate Dibasic), chemical formula (NH4)2HPO4, is a kind of inorganic salt, colorless transparent monoclinic crystal or white powder, easily soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol.

The relative density is 1619; Melting point 190℃. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is alkaline, 1% aqueous solution pH is 8. Its 0.1mol/L solution has a pH of 7.8. Insoluble in alcohol and acetone. Exposure to air does not gradually lose about 8% of ammonia gas to ammonium dihydrogen phosphate. It reacts with ammonia to form triammonium phosphate.

In the field of water treatment, it is mainly used as corrosion inhibitor and bacterial nutrient in the biochemical treatment of wastewater, and also used as the softener component of boiler water. It can also be used as dry powder extinguishing agent, welding fusion, yeast culture, leavening agent for making fermented food and bread. It acts as a flame retardant in fabrics, paper, wood and plant fibers. In addition, also used in fertilizer, feed additives, printing plate, pharmaceutical, electronic tube manufacturing and ceramic and enamel industry and other fields.
