Cinnamic acid, also known as phenylacrylic acid, is an intermediate of the rodenticide brodiolone.
Use 2
It is often used as a balm or fixing agent, especially suitable for Oriental aromas. In food flavors, it is mostly used in cinnamon and other spices, and occasionally used in cherry and honey flavors.
Use 3
Cinnamic acid is used in the preparation of L-phenylalanine, as an intermediate of cardicoan for coronary heart disease, and can also be used in the manufacture of local anesthetics, fungicides, hemostatic drugs, etc. In the fragrance industry, it is used to produce methyl phenyl acrylate, ethyl ester and phenyl ester, which is used as food and cosmetics spices, and has a good aroma protection effect. Used in pesticide industry as growth promoters, long-term fungicides, preservatives for fruits and vegetables, etc. It is also used to produce vinyl cinnamic acid, the main raw material for photosensitive resins. Cinnamic acid is a reagent for the determination of uranium, vanadium and the separation of thorium.
