Sorbitan Esters are useful chemicals that can do many jobs including making things mix together better, keeping them from separating, and helping them stick to surfaces. They are made by combining a sugar called sorbitol with fatty acids like those found in coconut oil or animal fat. One type, called Sorbitan Monolaurate or S-20, comes from coconut oil and can be used in many applications.
Polysorbate-20 is a surface active agent, yellow or amber clear oily liquid, used as emulsifier, dispersant, solubilizer, stabilizer, etc.
