Phenylpropanol is a colorless, transparent or light yellow liquid at room temperature and pressure, with a sweet and green aroma that is somewhat similar to the sweet and fresh fragrance of Suhe paste and hyacinth, as well as a slight aroma similar to rabbit ear grass aldehyde, but with a warm, sweet and pungent fragrance, a rich and long-lasting cinnamon aroma. Soluble in water and most organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, and ethyl acetate. It is a hydrogenated product of cinnamaldehyde, which has aldehyde like properties, is easily oxidized, and has high chemical reactivity.
