    It is prepared by catalytic hydrogenation of piperonal acetone or piperonal imine. Put piperonal imine, ethanol, and nickel catalyst into a high-pressure reactor. Replace the air in the reactor with nitrogen, then introduce ammonia and hydrogen. Control the pressure at 3-4 MPa and the temperature at 95-100℃. The hydrogenation reaction is carried out until no hydrogen is absorbed. Continue to maintain a temperature of 95-100℃ and a hydrogen pressure of 30 minutes. Cool to 30℃, depressurize and stand still. Use the residual pressure in the reactor to discharge and filter the product, removing the nickel catalyst (immersed in ethanol for reuse). The filtrate is first recovered as an ammonia-ethanol solution at normal pressure, then subjected to vacuum distillation. Collect the fraction at 110-140℃ (1.33 kPa), obtaining piperonal amine. The yield is 80%. The process is similar when using piperonal acetone as the raw material, with a temperature of 80-85℃ and a pressure of about 1 MPa. The content of piperonal amine obtained is 92-94%. The raw material consumption quota: piperonal acetone 1050 kg/t, lanolin nickel 23.4 kg/t, hydrogen 70 kg/t, ethanol (99%) 982 kg/t. This product is a liquid at room temperature. The boiling point is 166℃ (2.67 kPa), the relative density at 146-148℃ (1.33 kPa) is 1.225 (20/20℃), and the refractive index is 1.5620. This product is an intermediate for pharmaceutical berberine and domatamine.
