Nickel Acetate, commonly known as Nickel(II) Acetate Tetrahydrate with CAS number 6018-89-9, is a high-purity inorganic nickel salt widely used in industrial manufacturing, electroplating, chemical catalysis and new material production. It is the most mainstream commercial form of nickel acetate, featuring stable chemical properties, excellent water solubility and uniform crystal structure.
Nickel acetate tetrahydrate appears as green transparent crystalline granules or powder. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in methanol, and insoluble in organic solvents such as ether. Under normal temperature and pressure, the product maintains stable quality without easy deliquescence or deterioration. When heated above 103°C, it gradually loses crystal water and converts into anhydrous nickel acetate (CAS 373-02-4), and further high-temperature decomposition produces nickel oxide and other nickel-based precursors.
As a core industrial nickel salt raw material, Nickel Acetate has irreplaceable advantages in multiple industries. In the electroplating industry, it is used for nickel plating solution preparation, aluminum anodizing and surface passivation treatment, providing uniform and bright plating layers with strong adhesion. In chemical industry, it acts as an efficient catalyst and synthetic intermediate for organic synthesis reactions.
In addition, nickel acetate is widely applied as ceramic and glass colorant, textile dyeing mordant, battery material precursor and electronic industry additive. With low impurity content, stable batch consistency and high activity, our nickel acetate product meets industrial-grade and high-purity grade requirements for precise manufacturing and fine chemical production.

    • Fast and complete solubility in water and polar solvents
    • Stable crystal form, uniform particle size, no agglomeration
    • Strict quality control for batch-to-batch consistency
    • Widely applicable for electroplating, catalysis and new energy materials

    ECHEMI Editorial Reference
Nickel(II) acetate crystallizes from solutions of the hydroxide in acetic acid at room temperature as the green tetrahydrate. This is isomorphous with the cobalt(II) salt having a distorted octahedral structure with the nickel atoms surrounded by four water molecules and two oxygens from two acetato groups which are trans to each other. Its magnetic moment is 3.30 BM at room temperature. The hygroscopic anhydrous acetate is obtained by dehydration of the tetrahydrate in vacuo or by heating the
