    Bioactive 6-Aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) is a core component of penicillin β-lactam antibiotics. It is used as a precursor for the antibacterial compounds ampicillin and amoxicillin. Chemical properties: White or slightly yellow crystalline powder. Melting point: 208-209℃ (decomposes). Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in butyl acetate, ethanol, or acetone. Decomposes in alkaline conditions, relatively stable in acidic conditions. Uses: Used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. (+)-6-aminopenicillanic acid (amoxicillin EP impurity A) is the core structure of penicillin, obtained from the fermentation broth of Penicillium. (+)-6-aminopenicillanic acid is used as a major starting material for the preparation of numerous semi-synthetic penicillins. Uses: Melting point: 197~200℃; Specific rotation: +270~+280° (C=1.2, 0.1mol/L HCl); Properties: White or slightly yellow crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in butyl acetate, ethanol, or acetone. It decomposes in alkaline conditions but is relatively stable in acidic conditions. Uses: Biochemical research. The raw material for preparing semi-synthetic penicillin can be produced by solid-phase enzymatic methods and chemical cleavage methods. The chemical cleavage method uses penicillin G potassium salt as a raw material, which undergoes condensation, chlorination, and etherification to obtain diimine ether. Then, the diimine ether is added to distilled water at 0℃, cooled to -13±1℃ for 20 minutes, and hydrolyzed. Ammonia water is added (with seed crystals added midway). After the addition is complete, the temperature is controlled at 13-15℃, and ammonium bicarbonate is added to adjust the pH to 4.1. The mixture is kept at this temperature for 20 minutes, filtered, washed with acetone, and dried to obtain 6-APA.
