In addition to cerebra cortical and hippocampa neurons, 7,8-DHF also protects other cells such as retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and PC12 cells from oxidative stress-induced apoptosis and cell death. Therefore, 7,8-DHF has a neuroprotective effect.
