    Industrial Grade Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, abbreviated as CMC, with standard CAS No.9004-32-4, is a water-soluble anionic cellulose ether refined from natural cotton fiber through alkalization, etherification, washing and drying process. As a renewable bio-based polymer material, our factory produces low, medium and high viscosity series industrial CMC with adjustable substitution degree, which is widely applied as thickener, stabilizer, binder and water-retaining agent in oil exploitation, textile printing, ceramic manufacturing, paper making, daily detergent, water-based coating and construction industries all over the world.
    The finished product is uniform white fibrous fine powder with no peculiar smell and strong hygroscopicity. It can disperse rapidly in cold or hot water without caking, forming homogeneous viscous colloidal liquid. The carboxymethyl group on its molecular chain endows CMC excellent water retention, suspension and anti-redeposition performance, and maintains stable viscosity under weak alkali and low-salt conditions, which makes it irreplaceable in various water-based industrial formulas.
    In oilfield drilling industry, medium and high viscosity CMC is added into water-based drilling fluid as fluid loss control agent. It can form compact filter cake on well wall to reduce water filtration loss, stabilize mud viscosity, prevent well wall collapse and improve drilling safety and efficiency. For textile printing and dyeing factories, low viscosity CMC serves as printing paste thickener, with good leveling and color fixing capacity, clear printing pattern edge, no blooming and easy post-washing.
    Ceramic manufacturers use CMC as blank binder and plasticizer. It increases green body strength, reduces embryo cracking during drying and firing, and improves ceramic surface smoothness. In paper making industry, CMC is used for surface sizing and wet-end additive to enhance paper tensile strength, folding resistance and ink absorption performance. Laundry detergent and industrial cleaning agents add low-viscosity CMC to realize anti-redeposition effect, preventing dirt from reattaching to fabric surfaces during washing process.
    Water-based paint, architectural putty and refractory material production rely on high-viscosity CMC for thickening and water retention, avoiding coating sagging and raw material premature dehydration. Besides, CMC can be used as suspension stabilizer for industrial wastewater treatment and inorganic pigment dispersion agent.
